Clinton County Sheriff's Office Promotions

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the promotions of Lt. Scott Reyhons and Sgt. Matt Owens. They were both sworn in on Monday, September 26, 2022 during the 9:15 AM Board of Supervisor meeting at the Clinton County Administration Building.

Sergeant Scott Reyhons was promoted to Lieutenant on September 18, 2022. Scott Reyhons began working with Clinton County in 1992 as a Communications Operator. He then began his law enforcement career from 1994-1995 as a Reserve Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s office. Shortly after becoming a Reserve Deputy, he was then hired on January 16, 1995 by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Reyhons’s first duties at the sheriff’s office were working in the Jail. He also provided security for the courthouse. In 2001, Reyhons transferred to the Patrol Division. On October 10, 2003, Deputy Reyhons was promoted to Road Patrol Sergeant after undergoing the required testing and interviewing process.

Deputy Matt Owens was promoted to Sergeant September 25, 2022. Matt Owens began his law enforcement career at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office November 26, 2001. While serving with the Sheriff’s Office, Matt has been a Jail Deputy, a K-9 Handler, a member of the Special Response Team (SRT), a member of the Street Crimes and Targeted Enforcement Team (SCATT) and is a Field Training Officer.

Clinton County Sheriff's Office Announces Promotions

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the promotions of Lt. Scott Reyhons and
Sgt. Matt Owens. They will be sworn in on Monday, September 26,2022 during the 9:15 AM Board of
Supervisor meeting at the Clinton County Administration Building. Family, friends and the public are
welcome to attend the ceremony. Lieutenant Reyhons has served 27 years with the Clinton County
Sheriff's Office. Sergeant Matt Owens has served 21 years with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office.

Suicide Awareness & Prevention Roundtable

A Suicide Awareness & Prevention roundtable discussion was held with members of the public, local organizations and law enforcement agencies as well as with elected officials from city, county and the state level at the Clinton County Law Center on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Roundtable representatives included US Congresswoman Miller-Meeks, Senator Chris Cournoyer, lowa Representative Norlin Mommsen, Chief Executive Officer with Foundation 2 Crisis Services Emily Blomme, Outreach Coordinator/Educator with Speak Out Against Suicide Shawn Felts, Suicide Prevention Director with lowa Department of Public Health and Human Services Keri Neblett, Pro8ram Planner 3 with lowa Department of Public Health and Human Services lulie Maas, City of Camanche Superintendent Tom Parker and Clinton County Sheriff Bill Greenwalt.

We appreciate all who attended the roundtable and provided feedback as well as a special thank you to US Congresswoman Miller-Meeks for supporting suicide awareness and prevention by meeting with over 100 members of our community!

Three New Deputies Hired

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the hiring of three (3) Deputy Sheriffs – Brad Drews, Kennie Sparks and Robyn Carter. The three deputies will be sworn in by Judge Shepherd on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 9:30 AM. The ceremony will take place inside the 2nd Floor Courtroom of the Courthouse. Family, friends and the public are welcome to attend the ceremony.

Deputy Drews comes to the Sheriff’s Office with 4 years of law enforcement experience with the Camanche Police Department and 2 years prior as a Civilian Correctional Office and Reserve Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Sparks comes to the Sheriff’s Office with a total of 26 years of law enforcement experience with the Clinton Police Department (9 years), the Maquoketa Police Department (14 years) and the Preston Police Department (3 years).

Deputy Carter comes to the Sheriff’s Office with a total of 8 years of law enforcement experience with the DeWitt Police Department (1 year) and the City of Rio Rancho Police Department, New Mexico (7 years).

Three New Reserve Deputies Sworn In

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the swearing in of three new Reserve Deputies, their names include:

  • Troy Edmunds
  • Taylor Winter
  • Travis Winter

The Reserve Deputies will be sworn in by Judge Shepherd on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:30 PM. The ceremony will take place inside the 2 nd Floor Courtroom of the Courthouse. Family, friends and the public are welcome to attend the ceremony.

Deputy Sheriff Hired

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the hiring of Deputy Sheriff Keenan Meinecke. He will be sworn in by Judge Shepherd on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place inside the 2nd Floor Courtroom of the Courthouse. Family, friends and the public are welcome to attend the ceremony. Deputy Meinecke comes to the Sheriff’s Office with 12 years of law enforcement experience with Maquoketa Police Department.
