Absentee Voting Begins at Clinton County Auditor’s Office

CLINTON – Clinton County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Eric Van Lancker has announced that absentee ballots for the November 8, 2022, General Election are available to be voted in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office on Wednesday, October 19.

Absentee ballots may be cast in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office at the Clinton County Administration Building, 1900 N. 3rd St., Clinton, IA, during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through November 7. The Clinton County Auditor’s Office will also be open Saturday, October 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Forms are available at the Auditor’s Office, on the Clinton County Web site at elections.clintoncounty-ia.gov and at the Iowa Secretary of State’s Web site at www.sos.state.ia.us.

All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m., October 24. Ballots returned to the Auditor’s Office through the mail must be returned by 8 p.m. on November 8. Ballots received after the polls closed shall not be counted now despite its postmark due to new election laws passed by the Iowa Legislature last year.

Sample ballots for the 2022 General Election may be found on the Clinton County Web site at elections.clintoncounty-ia.gov.

Lane closure on U.S. 30 between Wheatland and Calamus begins on Feb. 10

posted 2/5/25 · Secondary Roads If you travel on U.S. 30 between Wheatland and Calamus you should be aware of a lane closure that could slow down your trip, according to the Iowa DOT’s Davenport construction office. Beginning on Monday, Feb. 10, until December 2025, weather permitting, crews will close one lane of U.S. 30 between Clinton County Road Y-4E/130th Ave. near Wheatland, and Clinton County Road Y-44/170th Ave. near Calamus, for the replacement of three bridges over the Wapsipinicon River.

Changes to Outdoor Warning Siren System

We encourage residents to utilize Alert Iowa, IPAWS (the Federal Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) and NOAA Weather Radios. As always Clinton County Emergency Management is committed to improving public safety.  A program to offer free weather radios to Clinton County residents has begun at outreach events and in conjunction with local libraries.
