I-Smile™ Dental Home Program

I-Smile™ encompasses Cedar, Clinton, Jackson, and Scott Counties and is a program of Scott County Health Department. 

The I-Smile™ Program provides oral health screenings, oral health education, nutrition education relating to oral health, fluoride varnish application, and referral to a dentist for comprehensive dental needs.  The program serves children ages 0-21 and pregnant women.  I-Smile™ can assist families when they need:

  • To find a dental home or dental insurance for their child
  • Assistance scheduling appointments and appointment reminders
  • Assistance in arranging transportation to dental appointments
  • Translation services regarding their dental care

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association say that the first dental visit should occur within six months after your baby’s first tooth appears, and no later than your child’s first birthday!

Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program

MCAH encompasses Clinton and Jackson Counties and is a program of EveryStep Care and Support Services.

The MCAH Program provides personalized one-on-one education and health screenings serving children from birth through age 21 and pregnant women.  Registered nurses provide:

  • Individualized prenatal and postpartum health education
  • Depression screening and referral
  • Assistance finding medical and dental providers
  • Assistance applying for immediate presumptive Medicaid coverage
  • Assistance accessing community resources
  • Lead testing
  • Immunizations
  • Developmental screening and education

WIC (Women, Infants and Children)

WIC is a nutrition education and supplemental food program that serves:

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding women
  • Postpartum women that are not breastfeeding (up to 6 months after delivery)
  • Infants and children (up to 5 years of age)
