The Clinton County Auditor’s Office in Clinton, Iowa, has an opening for an Election Coordinator.  This is a great opportunity for someone with elections experience and/or an office management background. 
 
The qualified candidate should possess excellent written and oral communications abilities, analytical skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, supervisory and training skills, be able to adapt quickly in stressful or emergency situations, and the ability to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner.  This position is public facing and requires nontraditional working hours before and after each election. The ability to read and interpret law from the Code of Iowa and Administrative Rules is a must. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff until 4 PM Friday, April 30, 2021. Probation salary is $25.94 hourly increasing to $28.82 after probation. Work schedule includes 12-hr rotating shifts with every other weekend off. Benefits include a healthcare option, life insurance, IPERS Retirement and paid time off after one year of employment (subject to union negotiations). Take-home patrol vehicle, uniform, leather, weapon, other equipment and boot allowance are provided.

The physical agility, written testing and Civil Service Interviews will be Saturday, May 15, 2021.
 
New this year, applicants who are currently employed as a certified Iowa peace officer will NOT need to complete the physical agility and written testing portion. The Civil Service Commission interview process will still be required.

SEASONAL CONCESSION WORKERS

This is a seasonal position, 20-29 hours per week. The person selected for this position will be based at the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center at Rock Creek Marina and Campground, Camanche, Iowa. The person hired for this position will work under supervision of the Park Supervisor.   

Work Schedule: Shift will be days/afternoon/evenings and must work some holidays and weekends.   Duties: The person(s) hired for this position will gain knowledge in day to day park operations. This position includes the following duties: registering campers,  preparing/ordering food, general custodial maintenance to the MRETC, stocking merchandise, operating cash register and other duties as assigned. Employees must be able to do some climbing, lift up to 40 lbs, and able to stand entire shift. Applicant must be comfortable working with the public. Qualifications:

Must be 18, have a valid driver’s license. Previous experience working with the public and handling cash a plus but will train the right person(s). Pay is $10.00 per hour.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office is now seeking applications for the Sheriff's Reserves.

Prospective reserves must pass a timed written test, a physical test, and a basic oral interview. A background check on the applicant’s driving record and a criminal history will be performed. Applicants who successfully pass the above criteria are then invited for a second oral interview with the Sheriff and members of the Sheriff reserve executive board. Top candidates will then be invited to take a psychological exam. The final step for those selected will be a physical exam. The entire cost of the process is paid for by the Sheriff’s reserves .

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Part-time Bailiff/Security Officer. The schedule includes weekday hours varying from 7 AM – 4:30 PM. The starting wage is $15.00 hourly. The job’s summary is primary security for the Clinton County Law Center, Courthouse and Administration Building. Bailiff/Security Officer’s priority is to provide safety and security during business hours of county buildings.
 
Applicants must be 18 years of age, hold a valid state driver’s license, either be a high school graduate, hold a GED or (HiSET) High School Equivalency Test certificate, be a U.S. citizen, has been certified by a state law enforcement academy as a peace officer or reserve. Military police training is acceptable in lieu of a state peace officer certification. Applicants do not need to be a resident of Iowa to apply.
 
Applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment may be required to provide the following documents in order to proceed with the background investigation:
