Clinton County is looking for a Part time Veterans Affairs Assistant:

The Veteran Affairs Assistant assists all residents of the state who served in the armed forces of the United States and their relatives, beneficiaries, and dependents in receiving from the United States and this state any and all compensation, pensions, hospitalization, insurance, education, employment pay and gratuities, loan guarantees, or any other aid or benefit to which they may be entitled under any law.  The Veteran Affairs Assistant also must inform members of the armed forces, veterans, and their dependents of all federal, state, and local laws enacted for their benefits.  The position requires a high level of customer service with respect to the public given through courteous, concise, professional treatment, and accurate and efficient transaction management. Ability to work efficiently on a computer is a must.  
·         High School Diploma/GED Required
·         Advanced Degree is preferred. 
·         1-3 years of experience working with veterans or in a Veteran’s Affair office is preferred. 
·         Must possess a valid Driver's license.
·         Must become accredited under the National Standards through the VA or other qualified organization within one year of hire date.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of a full time Civilian Correctional Officer. Probationary salary $18.32 hourly, increasing to $20.35 after six months. Benefits include a healthcare option, life insurance, IPERS Retirement, paid time off.

Clinton County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant County Engineer for the Secondary Road Department.  The position involves assisting the County Engineer in planning, directing and supervising the Secondary Road Department in the design, construction, administration, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and culverts on the Secondary Road System.  A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Construction engineering is required.  Surveying experience is highly desirable.  Good communication skills and computer literacy in civil design software, word processing, and spreadsheets is necessary.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and pass a post offer pre-hire, criminal background check, reference check, physical and drug test.  Salary is based on qualifications and experience.  For more information please see job description.
